Hi! My name is Elioner Rivera Aponte and I am currently 20 years old. I am from Yabucoa, but I am currently residing in Mayagüez completing my post-secondary studies. I belong to the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez. I am proud to be part of such a prestigious institution during the past three years, not only because of academic progress, but also because it has helped me develop as a better human being. My goal is to complete my college bachelor’s degree  obtaining all the necessary tools to be a successful professional in my area of ​​expertise. Presently I have the conviction that in some future I will specialize in the structural area of ​​Civil Engineering.

I am currently a honor student in the Civil Engineering department, distinguished for being part of the 2020-2021 UPRM steel bridge team. Since I started my studies, my desire was to be a part of this team in which I have the privilege of putting into practice various concepts learned during high school. Beyond the classroom, the university has taught me to persevere, to be optimistic and to face situations that will arise in life. I am also part of the group of outstanding students of the Faculty of Engineering, ePearls, which through workshops has helped me to acquire knowledge in various areas. With the guidance of this program I have the conviction that it will help me to develop professionally.
